Believe Him

Good morning! Today I am in John 8:21-30. Jesus tells the Pharisees and religious leaders again that He was going away, and they would search for Him, but they would die in their sin. They could not go where He was going. The people asked what He meant, if He was planning on committing suicide or something else? Jesus told them that they were from below, from the world, but He was not, He was from above. That is why they would die in their sins, unless they believed that He is who He claimed to be. They demanded, "Who are you?" He tells them that He is who He has always claimed to be. And that He has much to say and condemn, but He won't because He only says what He has heard from the One who sent Him, and He is completely truthful. But they still did not understand He was talking about God. He goes on to tell them that when they lift the Son of Man up on the cross, they would understand. He tells them that He does nothing on His own but says only what the Father taught Him, and He is always with Him for He always does what pleases Him. Many people believed Him.

Jesus tells them that He is not from below, but from above. His ways are not their ways. His ways are not the world's ways. And He only does what the Father tells Him. He does nothing on His own.

He tells us very plainly here, that unless we believe in Him, we will die in our sins. Dying in our sins means going to hell for eternity after we die. Jesus is the only way to heaven. The only way. We must believe who He says He is. He has given us plenty of evidence to prove Himself. And just like He said, His death, burial, and resurrection is the proof everyone needed. But the world does not point to Him. The world is ruled by Satan for now, and everything the world tells us is good, pulls us away from God. We must get to know God, by spending time with Him, and allowing Him to change and renew our hearts. When we do, He opens our eyes, hearts, and minds to Jesus. Showing how Jesus was indeed sent by Him to save us from ourselves. Saving us from this world. Don't focus on the world's values but focus on God and His ways. Allow Him to renew your heart and mind.
