Compassion for Us

Good morning! Today I am in Luke 7:11-17. Jesus and His disciples go to the village of Nain. As He was arriving at the gate, a funeral procession was going by. It was a young boy, he was the only son of a widow. As Jesus saw the woman, His heart overflowed with compassion for her, and He told her not to cry. Then He went over to the coffin, put His hand on it, and said, "Young man, I tell you to get up!". Immediately, the boy sat up and began talking. Fear swept the crowd, and the people began praising the Lord saying that a mighty prophet was among them, and that the Lord had visited His people. And the news spread.

Jesus had compassion for the woman that had just lost her only son, and had no one else. Jesus has compassion for everyone of us. So much so, that He died for us. He took all of our sins upon Himself so we could be free. He comes to us, meeting us exactly where we are, dead in whatever sin we are stuck in, and His rescues us. He revives our lives. Giving us a brand new life with Him. Just like He raised this boy from the dead, He saves us from being dead in our sins. Just like this woman, He sees our needs. He sees where we are hurting and struggling, and He helps us. He gives us a second chance. He has compassion for each of us.

Where are you struggling today? Know that God sees you. He sees right where you are, and He is there to help you. All you have to do is seek Him. Seek Him with your whole heart, and He will help you. He is waiting on us to seek Him. He does not make us. He gives us the option because He loves us. Allow Him to help you today.
