Don't Be Afraid, Have Faith

9:25 am

Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 9:18-26, Mark 5:21-43, and Luke 8:40-56. Jesus and His disciples got back in the boat, and went back across the lake. When they got there a large crowd was waiting for Him and welcoming Him. A leader from the nearby synagogue, Jairus, approached Him and fell at His feet, pleading with Jesus to come to his home and lay hands on His daughter for she was dying. Jesus and His disciples followed Jairus to his home. On the way, a woman who had been dealing with constant bleeding for 12 years, touched the fringe of His robe. She thought that if she could only touch His robe she would be healed. As soon as she touched the fringe, she was immediately healed. Jesus felt healing power go out of Him, so He stopped and asked the crowd who touched Him. His disciples told Him, "how can you ask that when there are so many people around touching you?" Jesus told them this was different, someone had deliberately touched Him and healing power had went out. Everyone in the crowd denied it, but the woman fell at His feet and told Him why she had touched Him. He told her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over." While He was speaking to her, Jairus's messengers came up to him and told him his daughter had died, and that he shouldn't trouble the teacher with it anymore. But Jesus heard them and told Jairus to not be afraid, but to have faith. They went on to his house. When they got there, several people were there causing a large commotion. Jesus asked them why there was so much commotion and weeping. That the child wasn't dead, she was only sleeping. The people laughed at Him. He told them to leave, and He and Peter, James, John, and the mother and father, went into the girls room. He took her hand and told her to get up. Immediately she stood up and began walking around. Jesus told her parents to give her some food, and told them not to tell anyone what had happened.

Wow! God is so good. Jesus knew exactly what these people needed, and He did not care that these people were considered unclean. Because just one touch from Him, they became clean, and healed. Jesus tells us the same thing today, "Don't be afraid, have faith!" Have faith that He is the one that can help us no matter what we are going through. No matter what our circumstances look like. God has all the help we need. We don't have to be afraid to come to Him, but trust that He has got everything under control.

Do you ever feel like the problems you are facing have no solution, that no one can help you? Remember, that you have a heavenly Father above that knows everything that is happening, He knows exactly what you are feeling, and He is right there waiting for you to seek Him. He alone has everything we need. But we must take that step to reach out to Him. He won't make us do it. We have to take that step for ourselves, and believe that He will help us. Don't be afraid, have faith.
