Good and Bad Seed

Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 13:34-43 and Mark 4:33-34. After Jesus told the crowd the parable of the weeds and the mustard seed, He left the crowd. Matthew and Mark tells us that Jesus never taught without parables, fulfilling the prophecy from Psalm 78:2, but when He was alone with the disciples He explained the parables to them. They asked Him to explain the parable of the weeds. Jesus told Him that the Son of Man is the farmer that plants the good seed. The good seed represents the people of the Kingdom, and the weeds are the people who belong to the evil one. The harvest is the end of the world, and the harvesters are the angels. At the end of the world, the Son of Man will send His angels out to remove everything in the Kingdom that causes sin and all who do evil. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father's Kingdom. Then He tells them, "Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!"

Jesus is the Son of Man. He is the one that will judge all in the end. Judging our hearts. God is the only one that can see our true hearts. He will look to see what we did with His Word that He gives to everyone of us. Did we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, or did we reject Him and live like the world? He gives us all that chance to choose Him. He tells us in His Word, that everything of this world points to Him (Romans 1:20). He created everything in heaven and on earth, and His craftsmanship is seen in all of it. But the enemy came to earth, and planted corruption and evil (the weeds). These things entice us to turn away from God to seek the pleasures of this world. But He gives us all a chance to choose Him instead. If you are still alive today, He is still giving you a chance to repent of the sin, and turn to Him. His ways are better than anything the enemy will ever offer us.

Are you a good seed or a bad seed? If you reflect on this question, and look at how you live your life and notice that you are not living for God, but are following the ways of the world, it is a good time to repent. It is not too late for you to change. God can help you. If you truly want to follow God, ask Him to help you remove the sin in your life. Ask Him to forgive you, and help you walk with Him instead of the enemy. He wants to help you break those chains of sin that holds us back from living for Him. It's not too late to turn to Him.
