It's Easy to Forget

Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 15:32-39 and Mark 8:1-10. A large crowd had gathered around Jesus and His disciples, and they had run out of food. Jesus told His disciples that He felt sorry for the people because they had been with Him for 3 days, and were out of food. And He didn't want to send them on their way because He was afraid they would faint on their way home. So He told the disciples to feed them. They responded by asking Him where they would get enough food there in the wilderness to feed all the people. Jesus asked them like last time, what they had. They had 7 loaves of bread and 2 fish. They gave them to Jesus, and Jesus told the people to sit on the ground. Then He thanked God for the food, and began breaking it into pieces, then passing them to the disciples to pass out to the people. The people ate all they wanted and there was 7 baskets of leftovers. There were about 4,000 men there, not counting the women and children that were there too. Then Jesus sent them home, and He got back in the boat and went to the region of Magadan.

This is the second time Jesus fed the crowd. The disciples had already forgotten the first time He did this. It is so easy for us to get distracted by the difficult situations that we face, and forget everything the Lord has already done for us. When we face difficult situations, we must remember to look back and remind ourselves how God was able to help us in the past. Looking back and remembering will give us hope in the current situation. If God did something before He can and will do it again. Don't give up hope because the situation may look a little different. Remember how much God loves you and how much He has already done for you. God already knows everything that we need, all we have to do is turn to Him and trust that He is going to help us again. He is always there for you.
