Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 10:1-15, Mark 6:6-13, and Luke 9:1-6. Jesus called His 12 disciples together and He gave them the authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness. He told them not to go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans, but to the people of Israel - God's lost sheep. He told them to go out and announce that the Kingdom of Heaven is near, and to heal the sick and cast out demons. For them to give as freely as they have been given. He tells them not to take any money, change of clothes, or even a walking stick. He told them not to hesitate to accept hospitality because those who work deserve to be fed. Whenever they enter into a town or village, they were to look for a worthy person and stay in their home until they left the town. They were to bless the house they were going to stay in when they entered. But if the house turned out not to be worthy, they were to take the blessing back when they left the house. If any house or town refused to welcome them or listen to their message, they were to shake the dust from their feet, showing that they have abandoned them to their fate. For the towns that refused to receive their message would be worse off than Sodom and Gomorrah on judgment day. So they went out two by two, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God. And they cast out many demons and healed many sick people.

Jesus called the 12 disciples and gave them the authority to cast out demons and heal the sick. These men were from all different backgrounds, with different abilities and different educational levels. Jesus did not care about any of those things. He called them, and they answered Him. He did not force them. He gave them the option to follow Him or not. They said yes, and He gave them the authority to go out in His name and tell everyone about Him, and showing everyone the power, authority, and goodness of Jesus. And as He sent them out, He made sure they understood that God would take care of their every need, that they did not have to worry about taking money or even carrying a change of clothes. They went out without fear or worry for the power of God was with them.

Jesus calls us all today in the same way. He calls every one of us to Him. All we have to do is say yes, and follow Him. Repent of our sinful ways, and turn to God. No matter where we are at in our lives or what we are doing, God calls us to Him. He gives us the same invitation He gave to the 12 disciples. When we accept, He gives us the the authority in His name to cast out demons and heal the sick. Then He sends us out into the world to announce the Good News of the Kingdom. For us to use our gifts and talents to spread the love of God. The Good News of Jesus Christ.

Have you said yes to the call of God? It is not too late. There is no special qualification you need to be obedient to Him, no educational level, no important skill, just as yes to Him. Yes to Him and repent of whatever sin you may have. Repent, then follow Him wherever He leads you. How do you know what to do, what God is telling you to do? Start in His Word. Praying and meditating on His Word. Asking Him to help you understand what His Word says for you today. He will. The more time you spend with Him, the more He will show you. The more understanding He will give you. Choose to say yes to Him today.
