Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 13:47-52. Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net that has been thrown out to catch fish. When the net is full, it is pulled to shore, and the fish are separated. The good fish are kept and the bad fish are thrown out. He tells us again that the angels will be doing this at the end of the world. They will be separating the evil people from the righteous. And the evil people will be thrown into the fiery furnace. Then He adds that every teacher of religious law that becomes a disciple is like a homeowner that brings from the storeroom new gems of truth as well as old.

This parable of the fishing net means the same thing as the parable of the wheat and weeds. In the end, we will all be sorted and either we will be sent to heaven or hell. That is the only two options. Jesus tells us that the road to heaven is very narrow, with only one door, Him. When we choose to believe and accept Jesus, He promises us heaven, but if we don't we will not be accepted into Heaven but sent to hell, the fiery furnace. There is no other option, you either choose Him or you reject Him. He gives us this same warning all the way through the Bible, even the Old Testament. He tells that His Word is a treasure, and that there is a double benefit for those who understand God's real purpose in the Old Testament and also understands Jesus' teachings. Both the Old and New Testaments are guidelines for faith and living in the world.

Are you ready to be sorted? Jesus wants us to be ready at all times. We do not know when the end times will be, but no one is promised tomorrow. He constantly asked His disciples if they understood His teachings because it is so important for us to understand that He is the only way. Understanding what the consequences are for not choosing Him, and how horrible it would be to be sent to hell. He wants all of us to understand this. He wants all of us to choose Him. He came for everyone of us, not just a select few, but all. And He gives us the Bible for us to understand that. It is not too late to choose Him and start living for Him. Choose Him today.
