The Fields are Ripe

Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 9:35-38. After Jesus was rejected in His hometown, He traveled to all the towns and villages around teaching and telling everyone about the Good News. As He went, He healed every illness and disease. He had compassion on the crowds because they were confused and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. He told His disciples that the fields were ripe for harvest but the workers were few, so He told them to pray that the Lord would send more workers into His fields.

The people around Jesus were ready to accept the message He was giving, but they needed people to show them how. Just like sheep need a guide, people need someone to show them how to be a disciple of God. Showing them and teaching them the ways of the Lord. When we are all new believers, we need people to help us understand God better, and as we mature and grow closer to God, He is teaching us how to be able to do the same thing for other people. God wants to be able to use us to harvest His fields. When we see someone that is confused and needing help, God wants to be able to send us to point people to Him. Show them how much God loves them, and wants them a part of His family. He also wants us to pray for more workers as well.

Have you allowed God to use you? God wants to be able to use you to guide other people to Him. We each have different gifts and abilities that God has blessed us with, that He can use to help others. But in order for Him to do so, we must be flexible, and allow Him space in our lives for Him to move and show us what to do. If you want to be used by God, tell Him that you are ready to give your gifts and talents to Him and His purposes, and He will begin showing you want you can do to help. Allow Him to use you today.
