A Radiant Life

Good morning! Today I am in Luke 11:33-36. Jesus tells His disciples that no one lights a lamp and hides it. Instead, they place it on a stand where the light can be seen by everyone in the house. He goes on to tell them that their eyes are lamps for their bodies. When their eyes are good, their whole body is filled with light. But when their eyes are bad, their bodies are filled with darkness. He tells them to make sure that the light they think they have in them is not actually darkness. If they are filled with light, with no dark corners, then their whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight was filling them with light.

Jesus is the light in our lives. When we accept Jesus into our lives, He comes in and fills our life with radiant light. When He does, all the dark corners that were once there, start getting exposed and flushed out. All the dark corners we try to hide, He starts exposing. Exposing it so we can't hide it anymore and we don't even want it there anymore. He fills our lives with amazing, radiant light that everyone can see. But He warns us to make sure that light is actually from Him and nothing else. We must guard are eyes, making sure we are not taking in the darkness in this world. Instead, spending time filling our lives with His Word and His goodness. The more we study His Word, pray, and worship Him, the more radiant our lives will be. But the more things of this world that we take in, the darker we will be. Not just to us, but those around us will be able to sense the darkness in us as well.

Spend time with Him, and allow Him to flush the darkness out, and fill you with radiant light. He can and He wants to. He wants you to radiate with light for all to see, His light. A light that cannot be hidden, and helps others find Him.
