Better than Money

Good morning! Today I am in Acts 3:1-11. One afternoon, Peter and John went to the Temple for 3 pm prayer. As they approached the Temple, a man that had been lame from birth, was being carried in. Every day he was placed beside the Beautiful Gate, to beg for money. When he saw Peter and John, he asked them for money. But Peter told the man to look at him. Peter told the man that he did not have any gold or silver to give to him, but he would give him what he had. Then he told the man, "In the name of Jesus the Nazarene, get up and walk!" Peter took the man by the hand and helped him get up. Instantly the man's feet and ankles were healed and strengthened. The man jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk. Walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. When all the people saw the man, and realized he was the same one begging for money, they were astonished. And they rushed out to where John and Peter were with the man.

Peter and John did not have any money for the man, but they had something even better, the healing power of Jesus. God gave this man exactly what he needed. When we ask God for something in prayer, we may not get exactly what we are asking for. Many times, what we ask for is help in a small area, but God wants to give us a new life and to help us with all our problems. God gave this man a new life, not just money. He offers us the same thing. A new life and a personal relationship with Him, which is better than anything this world has to offer. And like this man, when you do receive an answer to a prayer, praise God. Thank Him for what He has done for you and thank the people He used to help you. God is the one to get all the praise. Thank Him continually for what He is doing in your life, and allow Him to keep helping you and guiding you.
