Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 19:13-15, Mark 10:13-16, and Luke 18:15-17. One day some parents brought their children to see Jesus, for Him to lay hands on them and pray for them. The disciples scolded the parents for bothering Jesus. When Jesus heard this, He was angry at the disciples and told them to not stop the children from coming to Him, for the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like those children. He tells them that anyone who does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child, will never enter it. Then He put His hands on the children and blessed them.
The disciples scolded the parents because they thought they were bothering Jesus. But Jesus showed them how much He loved the children. The disciples, like many of the other people, thought Jesus should be spending time with more important people, but Jesus wanted to spend time with people that needed Him the most, including children. And He used children as an example of how we as believers should act. Like children trust and follow their parents, He wants us to trust and follow Him. Believing that He will take care of us always. Depending on Him in all areas of our lives. And allowing Him to guide us. Child like faith is not feeling like we are independent and can do everything for ourselves. Its not being skeptical of every little thing God says and does. But it is relying and trusting Him no matter what.
We were all children at one time. We all had to trust and depend on our parents because we could do nothing on our own. It's the same way God wants us to be like with Him. Yes it is hard to get back to that because we have learned to take care of ourselves and through various past experiences we have learned that we can't trust anyone. But God tells us we can trust Him. We don't have to be strong and do everything on our own, but God is the one that gives us the strength we need. He is the one that provides everything we need. Trust Him and follow Him. He is the best Father you will ever have.
