Don't Be Afraid of Any Man

Good morning! Today I am in Luke 12:1-12. When He left the Pharisees' house, there was a large crowd gathered around. Jesus turned to His disciples and told them to beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, their hypocrisy. For a time was coming when all that is covered would be revealed, and all that is secret would be made known. Whatever they had said in the dark would be heard in the light, and whatever they have whispered behind closed doors would be shouted from the rooftops. He tells them to not be afraid of those who want to kill their bodies because they can't do anything more after that, but instead fear God. For He is the one who has the power to kill them and throw them into hell. He tells them not to be afraid because the very hairs on their heads are numbered, and they are more valuable than a flock of sparrows, which God never forgets. He tells them that anyone who acknowledges Him publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God's angels. But anyone who denies Him Here, will be denied. Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemies the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. He tells them also to not worry about how to defend themselves if they are brought to trial, for the Holy Spirit will teach them what needs to be said at the right time.

Jesus reminds them not to worry or fear what people can do to them, but instead fear God. He is the one that determines where we spend eternity. This earth is not the end. When we die, we will spend eternity somewhere, there are only two options. If you are a believer, you don't have to be afraid because God is taking care of you, just like He takes care of the animals, and you are more valuable than animals. But you must acknowledge Him publicly while you are alive. Don't allow the fear of what people could do to you stop you from accepting Jesus, and sharing His love to the world around you. Just like He told His disciples, the Holy Spirit will give you the right words to say at the right time. And eventually, all the darkness of this world will be exposed. Nothing stays hidden. Don't be afraid, but live in God's truth, and walk on the path He gives to you. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you today.
