Good morning! Today I am in Luke 14:1-6. On one Sabbath day, Jesus was invited to eat dinner with a leading Pharisee. When He went, there was a man there with swollen arms and legs. Jesus turned to the Pharisees and experts in religious law, and asked them if it was permitted to heal someone on the Sabbath or not? They refused to answer Him. Jesus turned to the man, touched him, and healed him, then sent him on his way. Jesus turned back to the leaders and asked which of them did not work on the Sabbath? If one of their cows were to fall into a pit, would they not get it out? But still they could not answer Him.
Jesus knew the invitation was to trap Him, but that did not scare Him. Jesus accepted the invitation and then still healed on the Sabbath. He did not care what they thought or what they were trying to do to Him. He had a mission and a purpose, and He kept on going.
When we are following God, we may face the same opposition. Don't let that scare you away from doing what God has called you to do. The enemy will try to do whatever he can to get you off the course God has you on. Don't be afraid and don't give up. Keep pressing into whatever the Lord has called you to. Keep seeking God in everything you do and He will direct your steps, He will even give you the strength and encouragement to keep going in the moment. As long as you keep seeking Him and His guidance, He will be with you every step of the way. Allow Him to help you today.
