God Exposes Our Hearts

Good afternoon! Today I am in Matthew 26:1-5, Mark 14:1-2, and Luke 22:1-2. After Jesus told the disciples about the final judgment, He told them that in 2 days, when the Passover began, the Son of Man would be handed over to be crucified. At the same time, the leading priests and teachers of religious law were gathered together trying to figure out the best way to capture Jesus. They did not want to kill Him during the Passover because they were afraid the people would riot.

Jesus insulted the leading priests and teachers of religious law. He opposed their authority and revealed their evil hearts. And because of these things, they were ready to kill Jesus. God sees our hearts and He exposes the evil that is in there. When He starts exposing our hearts, we will either ask Him to forgive us and repent of our sins. Or we will refuse God's help, and hate Him and anyone that He sends to try and help us. The more we refuse God's help, the harder our hearts get, and the more we criticize God's people. But if we actually listen to what God is trying to say to us, He starts showing us how much He wants to help us. Jesus tried to save the religious leaders. He gave everyone He came in contact with the same chance, just like He does everyone of us. But they refused, and in the end killed Jesus because of this.

Jesus exposes the darkness in our hearts, but He does so to try to help us. Because when we finally realize that we are killing ourselves in whatever sin we are in, He is there to help us. When He helps us, He cleanses us. Making us new creations in Him. Changing our hearts and minds. And everyday is a new chance for us. We are not perfect, we all make mistakes, but God is there to help us. Jesus died on the cross to save everyone of us from our sins. Our sins nailed Him to that cross. He did not die because of His sins, because He never sinned, He was perfect. He did this because He loves us. None of us know when our last day on this earth will be, when we will face that final judgment. So we must be ready now, while we still have a chance.
