Good morning! Today I am in John 9:13-34. Some people that were in the crowd, took the man Jesus had healed of blindness, to see the the Pharisees. The Pharisees questioned him about what had happened, and he told them what Jesus had done. Some of the Pharisees said that Jesus was not from God because He was a sinner, but some of them said Jesus couldn't have done the miracle if He was a sinner. They asked the man what he thought of the man who healed him. He told them that he thought He was a prophet. But the Jewish leaders still refused to believe that the man had been born blind, so they called his parents in for questioning. They asked his parents if that was their son, and if he had indeed been born blind, and who healed him? They told them yes he was their son, and yes he was born blind, but they don't know who healed him or how. They told them to ask him because he was old enough to speak for himself. So they called the man a second time, and questioned him again. They told him that God should get the glory for the miracle because they knew that Jesus was a sinner. The man told them that he did't know if the man was a sinner or not, but he knows he was once blind and now he can see. Then he told them, that he already told them once how Jesus healed him, but they didn't listen, so he asked them why they wanted to hear it again. And asked them if they wanted to become His disciples too. They told him that they were disciples of Moses, and that they knew God talked to Moses, but they do not know where Jesus comes from. The man told them, "He healed my eyes, and yet you don't know where He comes from?" He goes on to tell them that they know that God doesn't listen to sinners, but He is ready to listen to those who worship Him and do His will. Saying that ever since the world began, no one had been able to open the eyes of the blind, and if this man wasn't from God, He wouldn't have been able to do it either. The religious leaders told the man he was a sinner, and threw him out of the synagogue.

The man had been radically healed, and all the Pharisees and religious leaders could do was criticize Jesus for working on the Sabbath. They could not accept Jesus was from God because He was not following the rules they had set. They claimed to be disciples of Moses, but yet they added their own man made rules that they made, making it harder for people to follow God. Jesus made it very clear that God helps people even on the Sabbath.

When we see someone in need and know that we can help them, it doesn't matter what day of the week it is on, we are to do what we can because that is what God does for everyone of us. Even while we are in the middle of sin, He still comes to help us. We are not to place our man made conditions on God. God is so much bigger than us and what we could ever think. He has no limits. We as humans are flawed and have limits, but God is perfect and He can do anything He wants to do. When we try to limit God by our understanding, we like the Pharisees and the religious leaders of Jesus' time, will miss what God is doing around us, what He is showing us. God wants to open our eyes, hearts, and minds to Him so we can participate in whatever He is doing around us. He opens our eyes, hearts, and minds the more time we spend with Him. Allow Him to open your eyes today. Spend time with Him so you will understand how He works. When you do take that time, you will not be disappointed. God is so amazing, He will show you some amazingly, powerful stuff! Changing your life and the way you think forever! He is so good! He loves you so much and wants you to be apart of what He is doing! Seek Him, and ask Him to give you understanding.
