Good morning! Today I am in John 12:44-50. Jesus tells the crowd that if they trust Him, they are not only trusting Him, but also the God who sent Him. For when they see Him, they are seeing the One who sent Him. He came as a light to shine in the dark world, so that all who put their trust in Him will no longer remain in the dark. He came to save the world not judge it. But all who reject Him and His message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth He spoke. He tells them that He does not speak on His own authority, for the Father that sent Him has commanded Him what to say and how to say it. And His commands lead to eternal life, so He says whatever the Father tells Him to say.
I love this! Jesus sums up His complete message here, why He came to this world. He came to this world not to judge it but to save it by showing them the way to eternal life. The way to eternal life is by trusting and believing in Him. For if we believe and trust in Him, then we are trusting in the One who sent Him, Our heavenly Father. This is the main purpose, why He came the first time. He did not come the first time to judge us, but He warns us that if we do not put our trust in Him and obey Him, living however we please, we will face judgement on judgment day. Being judged on if we accepted Him and His message, and how we lived on this earth. If we truly believe and trust in Him, then our actions, how we live, will follow. But if we reject Him and His message, He will reject us on that judgment day. We have to decide while we are still alive, while we still have time, to trust Him and believe His message. The consequences of that decision are eternal, and they will either send us to eternity with Him, or into eternal damnation. There are only 2 options, and we must decide before it is too late. Chose Him. Trust Him. He is the only way, and when you do, everything else in this life will fall into the right place.
