Jesus is Mocked

Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 27:27-32, Mark 15:16-21, and Luke 23:26-31. The Roman soldiers took Jesus back into their headquarters and called the entire regiment. They stripped Jesus and put a purple robe on Him. Then they wove a crown of thorns on His head and gave Him a reed scepter to hold. They knelt before Him mocking Him saying, "Hail! King of the Jews!" They spit on Him and grabbed the stick from Him and struck Him on the head with it. When they were finally tired of mocking Him, they put His own clothes back on Him and led Him away to be crucified. As they were headed to where they were going to crucify Him, a man named Simon from Cyrene, was coming from the countryside. They seized Him and forced Him to carry Jesus' cross. Behind them were several grief-stricken women following them. Jesus turned to them and told them not to weep for Him but for their selves because a day was coming when they will say fortunate are the women who are childless. For the people will beg for the mountains to fall on them and the hills to bury them. For if these things are done when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?

Jesus was beat and mocked for no reason. He came to this world to save it. He did nothing but help the people while He was here. Healing and helping anyone that came to Him. But the religious leaders did not like what He was doing, what He had started. Calling them out on their hypocrisy and leading the people astray. They handed Him over to be beat, mocked, and killed.

Today, Jesus has the same affect on people. People do not want to hear what God tells us in His Word, they don't want to believe that Jesus is who He says He is because they don't want to obey Him. Because they want to keep following the ways of the enemy. So they make fun of Jesus and those who believe in Him. Remember that no matter what you face today, if you are being made fun of or being attacked for your faith in Jesus, Jesus faced it too. Jesus knows exactly what you are facing, and He is there to help you and encourage you to remain faithful and obedient to Him no matter what. He is the only way to get through any trial with peace and courage. And a promise that no matter what happens to us, if we remain faithful to Him, we will one day be with Him in heaven.

He told the women not to weep for Him because He knew that one day they would face persecution and see Jerusalem fall. No matter what you face today, you are not alone. Lean on God for the strength, peace, and encouragement you need to get through. He is there for you always, and will help you when you need Him. You are not alone.
