Good morning! Today I am in Acts 1:1-3. Here we are starting in Acts, and Luke is writing Acts as a letter to Theophilus. He tells Theophilus that in the first book he wrote, he wrote about everything Jesus did and taught while He was on earth until the day He was taken up into heaven. He tells Theophilus that after Jesus' resurrection, He spent 40 days on earth, appearing to the apostles from time to time. Proving to them in many ways that He was actually alive. And He talked to them about the Kingdom of God.
Jesus appeared to the disciples many times after His resurrection, proving to them that He was alive, as well as, teaching them more about the Kingdom of God. The disciples were to be His eyewitnesses to the world that He was alive. The more we seek God and spent time in His Word and prayer, the more He reveals Himself to us. The more He proves to us He is real and He is alive. He does this by meeting us right where we are. He meets with us every time we get into His Word, and He listens to us when we pray. We may not have Jesus in His physical form in front of us, but He proves to us that He is alive through answered prayers and Scripture that speaks to you right where we are, in whatever situation we are going through.
If you are feeling unsure about Jesus being alive, ask Him to help you see Him. He will. The more you spend time with Him the more He will reveal to you. Every time you start to doubt, ask Him to help you. Keep pursuing Him no matter what.
