Good morning! Today I am still in Luke 10:1-16. In verse 3, Jesus tells the disciples that He is sending them out as sheep among wolves. Warning them that they will face opposition as they go out and share the Good News with the different towns. Then down in verse 10 and 11, He tells them that when they do face opposition, and a town refuses to accept them, to wipe the dust from their feet and move on. Continue on the task He gave them in a different town.
When we go out, doing the tasks that God has given us to do, we too will face opposition. There will be people that don't want to listen to what we have to say. They will refuse Jesus, and may even try to run us off or discourage us. But Jesus wants us to carry on. Carry on with the assignment that He has given us. If we have to, leave that area, shake the dust from your feet, and go on to the next town. Making sure the people that refuse God's Word know the consequences of refusing Him.
Don't let the opposition discourage you and pull you away from what God has called you to. Not everyone is going to understand, and we have to accept that. Keep praying for whoever it is that refuses, but we have to move on. We are not to be hostile, angry, or argumentative. Jesus never argued with anyone, He just told them the truth, and it was up to them what they did with it. Jesus showed love and compassion whenever He shared the Good News and we are to do the same. God wants to show love to everyone, whether they accept Him or not, but sometimes we have to leave them to the fate they chose.
Don't let people or circumstances discourage you or stop you from what God is calling you to do. Keep moving forward, allowing God to direct your steps as you go. He will give you the strength to carry on.
