Good afternoon! Today is such a beautiful day that the Lord has made! I am sitting outside on the porch, enjoying it. Dixie, my daughter, and I went to the Teapot Parade this morning. Perfect weather for it. The parade was good, I think it is good every year though. But of course it doesn't compare to the Strawberry Festival Parade. I probably won't go to it, it's next Friday, but it is definitely bigger and more food. Which for us, that is the best part. Anyways, it has been a good day so far. Let's dive into Our Bible study for today.
Today I am in Luke 17:11-19. Jesus and the disciples reached a village between Galilee and Samaria. As He entered the village, there were 10 lepers standing at a distance. The lepers cried out to Jesus to have mercy on them. Jesus looked at them and told them to go show themselves to the priest. As they went, they were healed. One of the men, when he saw he was healed, went back to Jesus and fell at His feet praising God and thanking Him for what He had done for him. Jesus asked, "Didn't I heal 10 men? Where are the other nine? No one else has returned to give God the glory?" Jesus told him to stand up and go for his faith had healed him.
When Jesus told the 10 men to go and see the priest, they did what He told them to, even though they did not see the proof yet. They responded in faith, that God would heal them. They acted in obedience. Their faith and obedience healed them. The one man that had returned to thank Him, learned that it was through his faith in Jesus that he was healed. Because of what Jesus had done for him, he praised God.
When God tells us to do something, He doesn't want us to question everything He says, second guessing Him or doubting. Instead, stepping out in faith into what He told us to do, trusting that everything will work out. Many times that is exactly what we do, we question and doubt. It is okay to question God, but sometimes our questioning will paralyze us and make us not step out in obedience. I do believe that if we question, asking Him for clarity to make sure what we heard is from Him, He will somehow or another give us a confirmation. What God tells us to do, He has already given us everything we need to get it done. All we have to do is step out in faith. And when you do see the answered prayer, make sure you give Him the glory for it, for He alone deserves the glory, not us. Step out in faith, trusting He will be with you every step of the way.
