Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 19:1-2, Mark 10:1, and Luke 9:51. After traveling through Galilee, Jesus left Capernaum and headed to Judea. Large crowds still followed Him, and He taught them and healed them along the way. Luke tells us, "As the time drew near for Him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. (Luke 9:51)"
Jesus knew time was drawing near for His death, so He started heading to Jerusalem. Jesus knew what was in store for Him in Jerusalem, but He was determined to go there. This was the course that He had to take. We are to have this kind of determination as well. When God gives us a course of action, we must move steadily to that destination. Setting our face to God and allowing Him to guide us where He wants us to go, no matter what we may face as we go. Resolving to not let anything or anyone deter us from the mission He has given us.
When we walk in obedience to God's call, we don't have to be afraid. For He will take care of us every step of the way, but we will face trials as we go. Don't allow that to stop you from doing God's will. As you go, just as Jesus continued to teach and heal as He went, we too must continue to witness as we go. Helping others and pointing others to Him. For that is part of His will for us as well. Set your face to God today and allow Him to guide you on the right path that He has for you, and don't allow circumstances distract you from God.
