Good evening! I hope you have had a good day so far. I have for the most part, until a few minutes ago. I wrote this whole blog out, went to close it out and something glitched, and I lost everything I typed. So now having to start over. Funny though because I was talking about being flexible, so when our plans are disrupted it doesn't hit us so hard. Then my plans on posting what I had typed disappeared, and I have to start again. And it will definitely not be the same thing I typed before. Why I was talking about that though was because I was finishing the verses I started yesterday. My Bible is a Life Application Study Bible, so there are several notes, as to why I was still in that section. As soon as the Lord told Joseph, through the angel, not to be afraid to marry Mary, he changed the plan he had of leaving her, and immediately obeyed God. Just like so many other prominent people in the Bible, they immediately obeyed God. Sometimes we can be so set in a goal or plan that we have made, that we don't give God the space in our lives to work. The Lord wants us to be flexible enough that He can use us at anytime. When we are not flexible, and God wants to disrupt our plans we can become very disappointed, discouraged, or angry. If you look at Jonah in the Old Testament, the Lord told him to go speak to people he didn't want to speak to. So he tried to run in the opposite direction. But God disrupted his plans in a crazy way. Swallowed by a big fish and taken to where God wanted him to be. Crazy, I know. But when we don't give God the space in our lives to move, He will definitely disrupt our plans, and many times, not in a comfortable way.
So here is the question for you today: are you a planner or goal setter, and if you are, do you ask God to help you make the right plans or goals for you in your current season of life?
Me, I am terrible at making goals, but I plan pretty good. And I do make lists of things I would like to do, but I am not stuck on it because time and time again I have seen in my own life, plans don't go as planned. Life happens. I don't want to get stuck beating myself up because something didn't go as I expected. Life happens, we get side tracked, we make mistakes, but through it all God can help you refocus on what is important. And ultimately, that is Him. Allow God space in your life. He will help you every step of the way.
