Good morning! Today I am in Acts 13:1-3. At the church of Antioch were five men, Barnabas, Simeon, Lucius, Manaen, and Saul. One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting. The Holy Spirit told them to dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work He had called them to. So the men fasted and prayed, then laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.

These men were from completely different racial and cultural backgrounds, but their deep faith in Christ united them together. Together, they worshiped, prayed, and fasted, and the Holy Spirit spoke to them. And they prayed over Barnabas and Saul , doing just as the Holy Spirit told them to do, dedicating Barnabas and Saul to the Lord and His special work for them, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God does not care where we come from or what our backgrounds are, He just wants us to be part of His family. Uniting together with other people that believe in Him so we too can go out and share the gospel with boldness. Just like these men prayed together, we need other believers around us to help us grow closer to God, and so we can encourage and build each other up. Covering each other and prayers, and interceding for each other. We are stronger when we are united with other believers.

Other believers also help us figure out the call God has on each of our lives. Just like God called Barnabas and Saul for a special purpose, God has a special purpose for everyone of us. Things that He calls us to that only we can do. And God will use other people to point that out in our lives. Not just to point that out to us, but to encourage us in those giftings and callings. As well as bringing people into our lives to come alongside us and work together with one goal.

When God starts calling you out about a gift or ability you have that can help others, seek His guidance. Ask Him to send you people that can help you and encourage you. We need encouragement from God and other people to help us step out in faith to what He is calling us to. Then, dedicate your life to serving Him. To dedicate means to set apart for a special purpose. If God is calling you to use you gift for Him, dedicate that to Him, setting it apart for His use. We can dedicate our time, talents, money, anything and everything to Him. God wants to use us and our gifts, talents, and resources to help others, and to point others to Him. That is the mission God calls everyone of us to. If you are unsure of what God is calling you to, seek Him for guidance, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. And He will, just like He did for these men.
