Good morning! Today I am in Acts 18:1-11. When Paul left Athens, he went to Corinth. There he met a Jew named Aquila, who had recently arrived from Italy with his wife Priscilla. They had left Italy when Claudius Caesar deported all the Jews from Rome. Paul lived and worked with them. They were tent makers just like him. Each Sabbath he went to the synagogue, trying to convince the Jews and Gentiles alike. After Silas and Timothy arrived, he spent all his time preaching the Word. He testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah, but they opposed and insulted him. He shook the dust from his feet, and told them that their blood was on their own heads, that he was innocent. He told them that now he would go to the Gentiles. Then he left and went to the home of a man named Titius, a Gentile who worshiped God and lived next to the synagogue. Everyone in Titius's household believed in the Lord, as well as many others in Corinth who heard Paul's message. They became believers and were baptized. One night, the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him not to be afraid. To speak out. To not be silent for He was with him, and no one would attack him for many people in that city belonged to him. Paul stayed there the next year and a half, teaching the Word of God.
God does not want us to stay silent. He wants us to not be afraid to share His Word where ever we are. Giving us the promise that He is with us always. And because He is with us, He will give us the boldness and courage to speak up for Him. He promised that He would be with us, but that does not mean we won't face hard situations, or possibly be opposed or persecuted, we are to go without fearing these things. All throughout the Bible His people were persecuted for their faith, and they are being persecuted today, but He does not want us to be afraid. If He calls us to speak out for Him, He will be there for us. He is the one that calls us to speak out for Him, and He will give us what we need to do what He has called us to.
No matter what you do or where you are, God wants to use you. He wants us to walk in His strength and boldness wherever we are. The more we spend time with Him, the more He will show us what we can do to point others to Him. So don't be afraid, don't stay silent. Walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to direct your steps today. The world around us needs God's love and truth.
