Good morning! Today I am in Matthew 25:14-30. Jesus tells the disciples another story to illustrate the Kingdom of Heaven. He tells them that it can be illustrated by a man going on a long trip. Before he leaves, he calls some of his servants, and entrusts his money to them as he is gone. One of the servants he gave 5 bags of silver to, the 2nd one he gave 2 bags of silver, and the 3rd he gave 1 bag of silver. Each was given money according to their abilities, then he left on his trip. The servant that was given 5 bags of silver, invested the money and earned 5 more bags of money. The 2nd also invested the money, and earned 2 more bags. The 3rd servant was afraid of the master, so he hid the money to keep it safe. When the master returned from his trip, he called for the servants to see how they had handled his money. The first and second servants told him how they invested, and that they doubled their money. The master praised them both and told them, "Well done my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. (Matthew 25:21)" The third servant brought him the money that he had been given, and told the master that he knew that he was a harsh man. taking what wasn't his, and that he was afraid of losing the money, so he hid it for him until he returned. The master told him that he was a wicked and lazy servant, and if he knew he was a harsh man, why did he not invest the money in the bank so it could at least it could build interest? The master ordered the servant to be thrown out into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Jesus tells them that to those who do well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But for those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.

Just like the master gave his servants money to use and invest, God gives us each time, abilities, money, and other resources to use to invest in His Kingdom. These resources He gives us in proportion to what He knows we can handle, and it is up to us to use them wisely. If we are like the 3rd servant, caring only about ourselves, not helping others, and wasting everything we have on selfish desires, God will not bless us with more.

We must remember that everything we have, everything we are is created by God and given by God. He created all of us with different interests, talents, and abilities that can all be used to bless others, not just ourselves. The more we use well what He gives us, the more He will give to us. He wants to prosper us. He wants us to have an abundant life through Him because when we do, we can help so many others. The more money we have, the more we can give. The more abilities we have and use, the more we can help others. And the more we use our resources for God to help people here on earth, the more He blesses us with because He knows He can trust us to use our resources well.

I love how God does this for us. When you look back and see how God does this, it will build your faith to do more. God takes care of us and everything we need, and He wants to use us to help others. We must remember that it all comes from God, and we are just stewards of the resources. Don't put all your hope and faith in your resources because it can all be taken away in the blink of and eye. Use wisely what He has given you because one day, when He returns, we will have to give an account of how we spent our lives and used our resources, just like the master did with his servants in the story. How we use the resources we have been given, shows God and others who we serve, God or some other God we have made in our lives. When we are faithful with little, He will bless us with more.
