Good morning! I hope you had a good day yesterday. I had a great day. I spent lots of time in God's Word, as well as worked on a painting I started back in the summer. I will show it when it is done, but I am almost done with it. It is of a raven standing in a field of lilies. I love how it has turned out already. I believe today, I am going to work on adding the line art to finish it up. Yesterday, as I was in God's Word, I felt Him tell me I need to work on one of the painting I have started, so I picked that one because I absolutely love how it was turning out as well as it is almost complete. I can't wait to show it. I started it based of Luke 12:24-27. So yeah, it was a really good day. I didn't get as much done on my house yesterday as I wanted to, but that's okay, I will work on that today too.
Anyway, this morning I was in John 1:19-28 still. One thing that really stuck out to me this morning was how John said in verse 27, that he was not even worthy to be the Messiah's slave and untie the straps of his sandals. John knew he was called by God, but he still felt inadequate. Even while he was out there doing what the Lord had told him to do, being obedient to God, he still did not think he was good enough to even untie the Messiah's sandal.
John laid aside his pride to serve God, as we must too. He was serving God, he was called by God from a young age. Actually, he was created by God for this point in time to do the job he was doing. We too were created by God, no matter what your actual family looks like, for the time we are in right now. He has a job for us to do. Though many times, we may not feel worthy enough to serve God, or even be in the same space as the Holy Spirit, God is with us. He is the one giving us the strength to serve Him, here on the earth He alone created. Just like He gave John the strength and ability to serve Him, He gives that to us as well through His Holy Spirit.
Do you feel inadequate to serve God? The enemy wants you to think that you are. He wants you to think that you have nothing to offer God, that He can't use you, but that is such a lie. You were created by God for such a time as now. He knows everything about you, and still wants to be a part of your life. Spend time with Him in your day so He can show you how much you mean to Him and how much He wants to be in your life. You are good enough.
