Led by the Holy Spirit

Good morning! Today I am in Acts 13:4-12. After the men laid their hands on Barnabas and Saul and prayed over them, Barnabas and Saul began traveling to different towns preaching the Word of God at different Jewish synagogues, John Mark went with them as their assistant. They came to one town call Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer, a false prophet, that had attached himself to the governor. The governor was an intelligent man. He invited Barnabas and Saul to visit him because he wanted to hear the Word of God, but when the sorcerer heard this, he urged the governor to not pay attention to what they were saying. He was trying to keep the governor from believing. Saul was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he looked the sorcerer in the eye and told him, "You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord? Watch now, for the Lord has laid His hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. And you will not see for some time." Instantly, mist and darkness came over his eyes, and he began begging for someone to take his hand and lead him. When the governor saw what happened, he became a believer, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.

The Holy Spirit filled Barnabas and Saul, and led them to the right places at the right time, and gave them the courage and boldness to preach His Word. As well as, giving them the discernment to be able to tell when someone is of the enemy or not, and giving them the power to deal with the enemies that they came across. Today, just like this sorcerer tried to stop the governor from hearing the Word of God, people try to stop other people from hearing the Word of God and try to stop us from sharing the Word of God. But like Saul and Barnabas, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you and guide you on where to go and what to say. There may be times that we not only share the Word, but we may have to call out evil. Bringing truth to those that are surrounded by dark influences. The governor of this town, was being influenced by the enemy, thinking he was a man of God, but Saul brought the light of God's truth. As well as, giving the governor a powerful sign that they were the one's speaking the truth because God had their back, and blinded the evil man right in front of him.

Today there are so many evil influences trying to get to us through different forms, especially in entertainment, whether that be movies, social media, games, music, etc... We must get into the Word of God so we can stand up against these evil influences that are constantly trying to get to us and our families. The more we spend time with God, the more He fills us with the Holy Spirit, and gives us the wisdom and discernment we need so we will not fall into the lies of the enemy. And the closer and closer the world gets to the end of days, the more false prophets will start showing up. We must have discernment and know God's Word for ourselves so we will not be led astray. Allow the Lord to fill you with His Spirit and help you navigate this crazy world that we live in. He will. He wants to help you and draw you closer to Him, so you will not become a victim of the enemy. And ask the Lord to help you get rid of anything in your life that might be pulling you away from Him. It is through Him and Him alone that we can overcome any evil that is coming at us.
