Good morning! This morning, I am in the notes section of John 1:29-34. John the Baptist was doing what the Lord called him to do, prepare the people for the coming of the Messiah. Letting everyone know that someone was coming that was greater than him, and that would baptize them with the Holy Spirit.
John humbled himself when Jesus arrived. Letting all the people know that Jesus was the one he was pointing them to. He had no problem leading the people to Jesus. He was content with Jesus taking the higher place. As believers, we are disciples of Jesus Christ. Like John the Baptist, we are to lead other people to Jesus. Teaching them that Jesus is our salvation, there is no other way. In everything we do for God, we are to point people to Jesus. We should be content where we are at and what we are doing because God put us where we are in life, and God is the one that has given us everything we need to live. Our assignment as believers is to live our lives for God, pointing people to the only person that can truly help them in whatever they are going through.
Are you pointing people to God? If you are a believer, that is what we are supposed to be doing. Telling others how Jesus saved us, and how He can save others. How Jesus is the only one that can help them. That is our mission in life. Point others to Jesus. It's not about us, but what Jesus can do for them.
