Trust God Even When You don't Understand

Good morning! Today I am in Acts 12:1-5. While Barnabas and Saul are in Antioch, King Herod Agrippa began persecuting some believers in the church. He had James, the brother of John, killed with a sword. When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he arrested Peter, planning to do a public trial after the Passover Celebration. He put Peter in prison under the guard of 4 squads of four soldiers each. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.

King Herod had James killed and imprisoned Peter. Even though the church was facing this persecution, Peter and many others remained faithful to God, trusting Him for help. When we are facing persecution, whether it is this bad or no where near as bad, take heart that God knows exactly what is happening, and He has got everything under control. We may not understand why the trial is happening to us, but we can trust God in the midst. We live in a fallen world, full of evil, and we may not ever understand why bad things happen to us and around us, but God does. And He has a perfect plan that He will work out.

When you question why something is happening, seek God for understanding and help. Lean on Him, and He will give you what you need in that moment, whether it be peace, comfort, strength, or understanding. God knows exactly what you need when you need it, and He will help you get through.
