Good afternoon! I hope everyone is having a good day so far. I have had a pretty good day so far. I am on my lunch break trying to type this up because I don't know if I will have time later.
I want to begin by saying how good our God is. The Lord has truly blessed me with some awesome friends that encourage me. Some wonderful, God-fearing ladies. I cannot even begin to express the gratitude that I feel for God and these ladies. Having women like this in my life is something I never had before, and that I always prayed for. I have had a couple, here or there, but not a whole group that I can talk open and honestly to, and trust that they will point me to God and not to the world. That is really hard to find as adults, and also hard to open up and be vulnerable to others. But God wants us to find community. That is why church is so important for us as believers. And here is the thing, the Lord tells us in the New Testament that the church is not just a building, but people. We, His followers, are the church. The church is with us wherever we go because the Holy Spirit is with us wherever we go. There were so many years that I did not have a group of women to talk to, but looking back on that time, God was working on my heart, so I could be that person that other people need as well. So, if you are like me and struggle with finding good God-fearing people to be around, ask Him to help you with that. It is not good for us to be alone; He said that at the very beginning of the Bible. When we ask Him to help us with that, be open and ready for His prompting. Maybe He wants you to start going to a church somewhere. That can be scary, especially starting a church that you don't know anyone at. But we have to step out of our comfort zone so God can move. Or maybe He still telling you to befriend someone at your work. He will lead you if you seek His guidance.
That leads me to what God showed me today. Yesterday, I told you that I had my whole blog post wrote out, but it got erased and I had to start over. While in that post I actually had combined two points into the one blog. But both are very good points that could be on their own. This morning, as I was in my Bible Study time, God told me that He erased that because He wanted me to split them up into two different days. The point I did not add yesterday, is the one He wanted me to share today. There was a reason, even though I could not see it at the time. And isn't that the story of life. We have no idea why something has happened to us, and we question God, sometimes we even stop seeking Him because we can't believe what He allowed to happen to us. One of the most asked questions of all time, I believe. But all through God's Word, He tells us that He is the only one that has all the answers, and it is not for us to know everything, but for us to trust Him. Trusting that He has everything under control even when it doesn't feel like it. There is a reason for everything, and everything works together for the good of those who love Him.
This morning, I was in Matthew 1:1-17 & Luke 3:23-38. These two sections are the genealogies of Jesus Christ. Many people skip right over these, but I encourage you not to. If you start at the beginning of the Bible, reading from front to back, you will see several throughout the book. But there is a major reason. Something I did when I started reading the Bible from the beginning, I created a family tree. It really helped me see the importance of these genealogies. Jesus' birth was a fulfillment of a promise that God gave us at the very beginning. Seeing those genealogies help you see how everyone of the individuals that are listed had a major part in shaping the world that Jesus was coming into and why we needed Him. Each individual listed, whether they played major or minor parts in history, are very important to God. Each one of their stories are important for us today.
This should be very encouraging to us today, because it shows us how important our lives are to the people around us, as well as the generations that come after us. Every one of us is important to God. He is the one that created us. And He has given every one of us a purpose in this life. Because of the things that happen to us as we grow up, we question that. Many times, the enemy will make us feel like we are all alone, that there is no reason for us to be here, that no one loves us. But God's Word tells us otherwise. Just looking at these genealogies, you see people of all types in Jesus' ancestry. If you look each one of them up in the Old Testament, you will see that several had very bad pasts, did awful things, but God still used them. Some even had shady back stories, but God still used them. And God is using you. Your story is important. And other people need to hear it. That is our testimonies. Our testimonies that God gives us of the hardships we have been through can help other people heal. And amazing enough, when we share our stories with others, it helps us heal also. You are important. Your story is important. Don't allow the enemy to tell you otherwise.
So, I guess there is the question for today:
Where are you at today? Do you feel like you have no meaning or purpose? That no one cares about you?
If you do feel like that, I want you to know that you are not alone. That there are other people that feel like that too. The enemy wants us to think that because when we think that we will seclude and not want to be around anyone. We won't be able to do the work that God has called us to which is to be the salt of this world. Helping others. If you feel this way, seek God. Seek His Word. Get into His Word, because when you do, you will see how much He loves you and you are important. God Loves You. He will help you.
If you need prayer, please don't be afraid to reach out. If you just need someone to talk to, reach out. Send me an email. I will pray for you. And if you leave a comment here on the blog, I can assure you that other people will pray for you as well. You were not made to be alone. God is with you always. And He will send people to help you.
