4:54 am
Good morning! This morning I am in John 4:46-54. As Jesus was traveling through Galilee, there was a government official in Capernaum whose son was very sick. When he heard Jesus was in Cana, he went and begged Jesus to heal his son who was about to die. Jesus asked the man if he would never believe in Him unless he saw miraculous signs and wonders. The official pleaded, begging Jesus to go to his boy before he died. Jesus told him to go back home for his son would live. The man believed what Jesus said and started home. While the man was on his way home, some of his servants met him with the news that his son was alive and well. The man asked them what time he started feeling better. They told him and the man knew it was the exact time when Jesus said his son would live. The man and his entire household believed in Jesus after that.
The man knew that Jesus could heal his son. Even though the son was 20 miles away from Jesus, Jesus still healed the boy because of the faith and obedience of the father. He obeyed Jesus by believing what Jesus said and going home like Jesus told him to. Not only did Jesus save the boy from death, Jesus also saved the entire household, because they began to believe in Jesus. We are never too far away for Jesus to save us, to heal us. Jesus sees us exactly where we are, and He sees our faith in Him. But like the man, we can't just believe, we also have to act on it. We have to obey Jesus and live like we believe in Him. When we believe, our actions should follow. People should be able to tell that you are a believer and follower of Jesus by what you say and the things you do.
Do your actions show your faith? Can people tell that you believe in Jesus by what you do and say? Like this man, if you believe in who Jesus says He is, and what He has done in your life, you should be wanting to talk about Him. You should be showing and telling people how Jesus can help them too. If you are praying about something, trust that Jesus hears and that He will take care of it, and act on it. Our faith grows as we us it. Have faith that God has everything under control.
