Filled with Excitement

Good morning! This morning I am in John 4:27-30. Jesus is still at the well talking to the Samaritan woman. His disciples arrive from getting food, and they see Him talking with the woman. But they don't want to ask Him why He was talking with her. She leaves, leaving behind her water jar, and runs back to her village telling everyone about Jesus. Telling people to come see the man that told her everything she had ever done, and that He could possibly be the Messiah.

Wow! The woman was so excited about meeting the Messiah that she left her water jar, the reason she was at the well to begin with, to share what Jesus had told her. So excited that she ran off shouting to everyone. When Jesus comes to us, and reveals Himself to us, He fills us with so much joy and excitement, it's hard not to share. We want to tell everyone of God's goodness. That is our testimony. That is what helps us share the Good News of Jesus Christ to those around us. When we are filled with that kind of excitement, God fills us with the boldness to tell others. God wants us to share our testimonies with others because others need to hear how God can help them too. The more we spend time with God, the more He fills us with joy that surpasses all understanding. So when something difficult comes up in your life, you still have joy deep in your soul that gives you hope to get through what ever the trial is.

Have you allowed God to fill your heart with joy? The more time you choose to spend with Him, the more He will fill you with the fruits of the Spirit. Joy is one of those fruits. The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). All these things come from the more time we spend with God. And everyone of these things, whether you are a believer or not, are things we all want more of in our lives. But they only come from God. Do you want these gifts from God? Spend time with Him and allow Him to transform your life. Allow Him to bless you.
