4:23 am

Good morning! Today I am in John 2:23-3:21. Here we are introduced to Nicodemus. Nicodemus was a Jewish religious leader and Pharisee. He had seen Jesus teach and some of the miracles He did, and he wanted to ask Jesus some questions. Examining Jesus for Himself. The Pharisees at that time did not like Jesus because He undermined their authority and challenged their views. But Nicodemus had heard and saw enough that he knew Jesus was sent from God, but he had questions.

We too must examine Jesus for ourselves. Learning about Him so we so we can put our faith in Him. We won't get to heaven on the faith of our parents or friends, we must come to know Jesus personally. Learn who He truly is and why He came to earth. We must seek Him with an open mind, and allow Him to show us the truth, so we can be saved.

Nicodemus met with Jesus at night, so others would not see Him, but when He believed Jesus, he spoke up boldly in His defense. When we come to believe in Jesus, we too will speak up for Him.

Have you searched for Jesus for yourself or have you just followed the faith of others without trying to get to know Jesus? When we try to get to know Jesus for ourselves, we build a unique relationship with Him that is real. And allows us to talk to other people about Him from a personal relationship we have built. That personal relationship is one that has to be nurtured with obedience and diligence. We won't build that relationship without getting into His Word for ourselves or without prayer. For that is where He meets us. Search for Him daily, and He will reveal Himself to you on that personal level.
