Good morning! Today I am in Galatians 3:23-4:7. Paul tells the Galatians that before Christ came we were placed under guard by the law. It protected us until we could be made right with God through faith. And now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian. For we are all children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. And all of us who have been united with Him in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. Now there is no longer Jew or Gentile, free or slave, male and female, for we are all one in Christ. Now we belong to Christ, and we are His heirs. And God's promise to Abraham, now belongs to us. He illustrates it even further by comparing the change from being under the law to children of God, to a father who died and leaves an inheritance for his young children. Saying those children are not much better off than slaves until they grow up. Even though they own everything their father had, they have to obey their guardians until they reach whatever age their father set. Before Christ, we were like children, slaves to the basic spiritual principles of this world. But when the right time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent Him to buy freedom for us who have been slaves to the law, so He could adopt us as His very own children. And because we are His children, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father." Now we are no longer a slave but God's own children. And since we are His child, He has made us His heir.

Praise the Lord! God has freed us from the slavery of the law, so now we don't have to strive to do the best that we can, trying to obey every single law perfectly. He knew that we could not obey it perfectly, so He sent His Son to save us. God knows we are not perfect, and if we keep striving to obey every law, we will take our focus off Him and place it on what we are doing. Which makes us feel like we have to worker harder, try harder, do more, never feeling like we are good enough. But God changed that with His Son. We are good enough, and His mercy is sufficient for us. We don't have to stress ourselves out trying to be perfect, but we can accept what He has offered us, and rest in the fact that Jesus has got us covered, and is there to help us whenever we need Him. No, that does not mean we can go out and live a sinful life, doing whatever we please, that is a worldly mentality that God calls us out of. But it does mean that if we mess up, and stumble into sin, Jesus is there to pull us out, forgiving us for messing up, and giving us another chance. But when we realize that we messed up, we must turn back to Him, repent, and ask Him for forgiveness. We have to turn away from the sin. God calls us out of the world, not to be like it. But praise the Lord that He gives us each the opportunity to choose Him. It's not an opportunity for just certain people, it is for every single person, no matter your background. And when we do choose Him, He sends His Holy Spirit to dwell within each of our hearts, to help us and guide us. He does that for each of us. He wants every single person to choose Him and be a part of His Kingdom. He wants that relationship with each of us. Choose Him and allow Him to make you His heir.
