Good morning! This morning we are in John 3:22-36. After the meeting with Nicodemus, Jesus and His disciples head into the Judean countryside. While there they are baptizing people. During the same time, John the Baptist in on the other side of the Jordan River baptizing people as well. Some of John's disciples begin arguing, so they took their argument to John and told him that Jesus was also baptizing people, and many of their people are heading to Him to get baptized instead. John reminded the men what he told them before that he was not the Messiah, and he was there to prepare the way for Him. And that he was filled with joy at the success of Jesus because Jesus must become greater and greater, and he must become less and less. For Jesus had come from heaven, He testifies of heavenly things that He has seen and heard, but John comes from the earth and can only speak of earthly things. That Jesus came down from heaven and is greater than anyone else. And anyone who accepts His testimony can affirm that God is true. And anyone who believes in God's Son has eternal life, but anyone who doesn't obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God's angry judgment.

Wow! It is so amazing to know that God is the one that is giving us the choice. It is up to us to choose Him or not. He loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for us so we can be free from eternal damnation, and have eternal life with Him. That is true love. It is the choice He gives us. No one can make us choose God, we have to choose Him for ourselves. He sends people into our lives to help us understand this. Just as John was there to do God's will, which was prepare people for Jesus' coming, we too have a purpose in God. When we choose to believe in Jesus, God begins showing us our purpose. Like John, we don't have to be jealous of what anyone else is doing because He has a specific purpose for you. And that is to point other people to Jesus. Help those around you understand that God loves them and has something better for them. And the way we do that looks different from other people.

Have you made your choice about who Jesus is to you? That is the most important question you will ever be asked. That decision is what will determine your next steps. Being obedient to God, is acknowledging who Jesus is in your life, and learning to follow Him and His ways. For His ways are the right ways. His way is the only way. That way is a blessing from God because it helps us live the life that God planned for us all along. Choose Him. He will change your life.
